225 x 180 mm. A photograph showing three islanders sitting on broken rocks outside the tumbling and overgrown boundary wall of Nelson’s house at Montpelier. It was in this house, while Captain of H.M.S. ‘Boreas’ and charged with upholding the Navigation Acts, which forbade trade with America, that Nelson married Frances Herbert Nisbet on March 11th 1787.
