View from Mount Towli, 1890
A view looking out over thick bush interspersed with steep hills and granite outcrops. Mount Towli (or Towla) lies to the south of the main Pioneer route about 12 miles north east of the Umshabitsi River, taken between July 24th and 28th 1890.

A view looking across flat bush land towards a steep rock outcrop. Exact location unknown, but probably taken near the Savana Buli Rock south west of the Lundi River (see Y3052A/84, 85). Photograph probably taken about August 2nd, when the column reached the Lundi River.

What is now Fort Tuli, 1890
A view showing the summit of the kopje 100 feet above the Tuli River with a cleared space surrounded by a thorn zariba. Inside the zariba are rows of bivouac tents, a group of pioneers gathered round light field pieces and the searchlight (see Y3052A/30) and a flagpole in the foreground.
