Scope and Contents 179 x 131 mm. An albumen print (possibly by A. Cameron) mounted on card. The pencilled caption on the reverse reads: '26 February 1875. (?)Rice Villa. Pieter Maritzburg. A. Cameron.' However, on the side of the building is painted 'Marine Villa Boarding House. B. Winder,' and this accords with the entry in the 'Natal Almanac Directory and Register 1875' which gives Mrs. Winder as the proprietress of the Marine Villa Hotel in Gardiner Street, Durban (facing the bay).The view...
