Contains loose photographs (mounted on loose cards), 200 x 150 mm (unless otherwise stated) by K.B. Padhye. The collection sustained flood damage in 1980, the second such fate to befall this collection. Sixteen of the photographs were transferred from an album damaged by flooding in December 1974. Mounts and albums bore the name of K.B. Phadye, 'Photographic artist', Aurangabad. Mr John Wright and his colleagues at the Tropical Products Institute Library assisted in linking photographs...

Weaving Kinkob in the weaving class, Sunderabad, 1908

Half-plate. The loom is of old pattern of Aurangabad Kinkob work. Kinkob work is usually of gold and silver thread, worked in patterns. The boy sitting above is controlling the threads, and helps to make the pattern by raising or lowering the threads in the warp below. The boy sitting below in the well works the shuttles.
