Scope and Contents 264 x 206 mm. A photograph taken by Tempest Anderson on his second visit to Saint Vincent to report on the disastrous eruptions of La Soufrière in 1902 and 1903. The image shows a view looking down into the water-filled crater of La Soufrière and showing the interbedded tuffs and lavas on the far side. The type-written caption on the rear of the print reads (in full): 'The Crater of the Soufrière, St Vincent, from the south lip. Tempest Anderson, 1907. The mountain was formerly known as...
