288x232mm. View of the entrance gateway to the tomb of Akbar at Sikandra, five miles north-west of Agra. The gateway, with its massive arch flanked by four minarets (seen here before the cupolas were repaired) is of red sandstone decorated with a polychrome inlay of bold geometric designs. No. 16.

294 x 233 mm. View showing the open upper storey of Akbar's tomb at Sikandra, five miles NW of Agra. An arched colonnade runs round the perimeter of the terrace, backed by screens of marble trellis work. The tomb itself stands on a platform in the centre of the courtyard (the actual body, following normal practice, being contained in a plainer tomb in a vaulted chamber in the basement). The Secundra, Agra, 1880 - 1889

275x215mm. View from the entrance gateway looking south along the broad avenue towards to mausoleum of the Empe or Akbar (1542-1605). The building was commenced by Akbar himself and completed after some twenty years by his son Jahangir. Pyramidal in design, the lower storeys are of red sandstone, surmounted by a fourth storey of marble containing a sepulchre (the actual body of Akbar, who reigned 1556-1605, rests beneath a plainer tombstone in the basement of the building).
