[The Sailor’s Home, Bombay], 1890 - 1895
265 x 158 mm. View showing the ornate façade of the Royal Alfred Sailors’ Home which stands on the Apollo Bunder near the dockyard. Designed by F.W. Stevens (also responsible for the Victoria Terminus and the Municipal Buildings) in Gothic style with polychrome decorations and a sculptured figure of Neptune flanked by two mermaids on the pediment.
