James William Best (1882-1960) was a forestry officer. The Citadel is situated in the SE corner of Cairo and was begun by Saladin in 1176. The Gamia Mohammed Ali or Alabaster Mosque was begun by Mohammed Ali on the site of a palace blown up in 1824.
