Scope and Contents 104 x 146 mm. A Cabinet Card Photograph, half length portrait of the missionary John Mackenzie (1835-1899) seated at a table. Mackenzie came to Kuruman as a L.M.S. missionary in 1858. In 1862 he was transferred to Shoshong and from 1869-71 he was on furlough in England. In 1873 he was appointed tutor at the Moffat Institution, then temporarily based at Shoshong, and moved with the school to Kuruman, where he taught from 1876-82.
