Scope and Contents 284 x 214 mm. A group photograph of the Sultan, European officials and Malay soldiers gathered on the steps of a specially erected open-sided wooden platform at some stage during the proceedings. Sultan Sir Ibrahim (1873-1959), who ruled from 1895 until his death, stands at the centre of the group next to Sir Arthur Henderson YOUNG (1854-1938), Governor of the Straits Settlements 1911-1919. Opening of the Japanese Garden, Johore Bahru, December 2, 1936, 1936-12-02

Scope and Contents

130 x 81 mm. Showing a mixed European and Malay group seated in front fo a summer house beside an ornamental pool in the Japanese Garden. Sultan Sir Ibrahim (1873-1959) is seated with the Sultana in the centre of the party. Their son, the future Sultan Ismail (1894-) is seated six places to the left of the Sultan. No other figures have been identified.

193 x 145 mm (mounted on card). Showing three Europeans and the son of the Sultan of Johore seated on polo ponies. The son of the Sultan is Ismail (1894-) who became Sultan of Johore on the death of his father in 1959.
