Temerloh Was the first posting for Sheppard. Sir Hugh Clifford directed new Cadets were sent to remote districts for the first year.

1 April 1928 Sheppard was put in charge of a land field rent collection team. They travelled for 4 weeks on a houseboat towed by a government motor launch on the Pahang River.

‘The curse that got loose’, 1960 - 1962
An account by Clayton of panic among the inhabitants of Pulau Tioman, caused by the combination of a curse placed upon them with an outbreak of the disease beriberi in 1927. He removed the panic by pretending to dispose of the bark the curse had been written upon (3 copies, 12 sheets).
