141 x 196 mm. A view from across the river towards the falls, a delicate fan-shaped cascade that drops among trees into the river. Presumably an area abundant in fresh water mussels, this being the translation of the Maori word Kakai.

This famous house, built in the 1870s, was for many years the part time home of King Tawhiao and was built by carvers from many parts of King Country and the North.
