132 x 96 mm. Note on reverse reads: Irrigation drains with path. The estate is divided into fields of approximately 40 acres in this manner. Planting drains are connected to the irrigation drains. Nipah (3 years old) is growing at the level of the water seen in the drains.
Isabella Edith Bain, 1960-01 - 1966-01
A memoir of Isabella Bain (née Lascelles-Ford), who travelled to Singapore in 1908 to marry the medical officer Dr Malcolm Rattray. She was interned at Changi civilian internment camp for two years during the Second World War, and later married the colonial administrator N.K. Bain. The file includes correspondence between the author of the memoir Kathleen E. Scharff and Hugh Bryson (11 sheets).
