It portrays working and living condition on the estate during the Malayan Emergency, including security measures. The album is captioned and is accompanied by a letter describing the visit.

Collecting the juice of the upas tree, 1900
104 x 149 mm (vignetted oval print). Showing a Kenyah man collecting sap from the upas or ipoh tree (Antiaris toxicaria). This runs from cuts made in the tree collected in a bamboo cup, a similar operation to rubber tapping.
