Papers relating to Lanning's service as a colonial officer.

The first eleven pictures are numbered and originate from Uganda. The remaining pictures were collected by Richard Carline in East Africa in 1959 and are predominantly from Uganda.

When the RES Headquarters was rebuilt in 1934-36, gifts of timber for panelling and furnishing were obtained from Empire Governments, companies and individuals. Many were destroyed during the bombing of 1941 and replacement gifts were received. This file coordinates pre and post-war correspondence.

Most of the prints in the album record scenes from Bell's official tours and from hunting expeditions in the Uganda Protectorate.
