Signed half length profile portrait in soft focus of Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), the Bengali poet, writer and artist who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. Seated on Tagore's lap is Michael Ney (c. 1925-1954), the son of Major Frederick Ney, founder of the Commonwealth Youth Movement.
