Scope and Contents

277 x 220 mm. A view looking along the three hundred foot wide Avenida da Liberdade with its tree lined walks forming Lisbon's chief promenade. The avenue leads off from the N.W. corner of Rossio Square. The monument in the foreground presumably commeorates Portugese freedom from Spanish rule. On the print itself is the following typescript caption: 'Lisbonne. Avenue de la Liberte'. It is also numbered 183 and is printed with the (photographers) initials 'L.L.'

278 x 224 mm. A view loking up towards the battlements and domes of the fortified Chateau de la Pena, standing at the summit of a tree covered hill. On the print itself is the following typescript caption: 'Cintra. Chateau de la Pena. Vue d'ensemble' It is also numbered 240 and is printed with the (photographers) initials 'L.L.'

Showing the magnificantly carved entrance archway to the Chateau, with a stone figure above the arch supporting a bow window on the face of which a delicate tracery of foliage is sculpted. On the print itself is the following typescript caption: 'Cintra. Chateau de la Pena. Cour ?D'Honneus.' It is also numbered 239 and is printed with the (photographers) initials 'L.L.'

Also known as Rossio Square, it is linked to the Praca do Comercio by Rua Augusta. On the print itself is the following typescript caption: 'Lisbonne. Place Don Pedro'.
