This is a small file of letters relating to Lanning's arrangements to train as a civil engineer in London in 1938 and possible service in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in the Gold Coast in 1939. It also contains two letters from his family dated 1945 and 1946 and a report relating to Lanning's work in the Military Administration in Germany after the Second World War (20 sheets).
