Colonel John Thomas Eustace (1825-1910), soldier and civil servant. Gazetted into the 60th Rifles 1844, served in Canada and later in the Crimea with the Osmanli Irregular cavalry. He retired to Wynberg and later in life became a civil servant, being appointed Resident with Chief Sarili at Butterworth from 1875-1879. He was appointed Civil Commissioner for Namaqualand in 1879 and ended his career as Civil...
