A posed portrait study of a half-naked girl stretching. A note by Miss Hartley states: ‘Tieru? Possibly a garbled version of ‘Thiyya’. (Known as Eylabas [?] in southern Kerala). A toddy tapping caste, the highest of the once untouchable castes.
