274 x 212 mm. View of Wentworth House Private Boarding Establishment, a two storeyed verandahed building on Church Hill. The two other houses in the block, without the elaborate cast-iron verandahs but with similar porches supported on Ionic columns, form part of the same terrace.

183 x 130 mm. A view looking up towards the front of the building situated off Domain Road near St Kilda Road in South Yarra. Designed by Webb and Taylor, building started in 1856. This photograph was taken before 1876, when the building was extended, and a central tower added.

Circular Quay, Sydney, 1885

Scope and Contents 190 x 140 mm. A view of moored shipping taken from the west side of the quay which stretches around Sydney Cove, and looking towards the east side. A vast reclamation project created the quay in the years 1837-1844, putting ten acres of mudflat behind a sea wall. Well before this, however, the west side of the quay was the site of Sydney's first shipbuilding dock and in 1789 the first vessel built in Australia was launched from here. The steam paddle boats in the foreground are the harbour ferry service, and the ships moored on the east and west side of the quay are cargo vessels and passenger ships.

267 x 212 mm. View of a mixed group of domestic residences on Cleveland Street. The house-types vary between thin two storey houses with verandahs on both floors to wood-frame bungalows with dormer windows. From the alternating disposition of these buildings it would appear that the bungalows were built between the verandahed houses on land originally belonging to the latter.
