An undated watercolour on card, 9'' x 12''. The picture appears to have been primarily intended to show the carving of the stern-piece of the canoe; the Maori girl paddling has only been sketched roughly.

Scope and Contents Undated postcards, envelopes and photographs containing images from New Zealand. The pictures include the War Canoe Race, tattooed Maori, 'tiki', South African postmen, a pictorial Christmas message and Robley surrounded by dried heads. There is also a painting by Robley of the 'Hongi or old Nose Salute'. The images are accompanied by a letter from Robley to the Secretary, Royal Colonial Institute, June 1920, enclosing a postcard with an original painting of a tiki and offering various...
