There had been a change of clothing for the participants, the Queen wearing 'a simple light yellow orangey frock'. There is a caption on the reverse which reads: ' At Government House garden party given in honour of the Royal couple by his excellency the Governor and Lady Hood'.

The location is identified as Nassau Harbour by the lighthouse which can be seen on the headland to the right, variously known as Nassau Harbor Lighthouse, Paradise Island Lighthouse and Colonial Beach Lighthouse.
