This is presumably the craft mentioned in the Diary synopsis: 'I rent a very large and handsome house-boat (110 feet long) which Sir John Wood [Resident, Kashmir 1923-27] has kindly allowed to be moored off the Residency wharf'. (Bell 1925-1926, August 16). At the end of September Bell made a journey on the boat to the Wular Lake.
