List compiled by Henry Morton Stanley during his exploration of central Africa with David Livingstone.
Press cuttings from 'The Times' and other publications. The titles of the articles include 'Letter from Stanley' (sent to the Emin Relief Committee), 'Mr Stanley and Emin Pasha', 'Emin Pasha and the Mahdi', 'The Revolution in Uganda', 'British Zambesia' and 'Mountaineering in Central Africa'.
Four volumes of newscuttings, three relating to Southern and East Africa and one to the Native Question in South Africa, and loose cuttings on related subjects. Many of the articles concern the activities of the colonial powers in Africa, notably Great Britain, Germany, Spain and France.
A study for the Royal Commonwealth Society's Group Project Competition in 1964, 9 pages, containing editorial amendments by H.B. Thomas, and including nine photographs and two maps. There is also a typescript copy with amendments, 12 pages.
