This collection illustrates the experience of the RCS during the Second World War. It also documents the festival held to mark the completion of the post-war restoration of the headquarters in 1957 and the celebrations organised for the society's centenary in 1968.

Malayan students in Britain during the Malayan Emergency, 1949-10-13 - 1950-04-26
Material related to concern for the welfare of Malayan students in Great Britain, and their exposure to Communist influences, expressed by the Association of British Malaya. The file includes minutes of a meeting at the Colonial Office on 27 June 1950, the draft of a paragraph for insertion in the April 1950 edition of ‘British Malaya’, and associated correspondence (12 sheets).
Malta, the Holy Land, etc
A collection of albumen prints which include views of the Middle East, Malta and Gibraltar by Robertson, Beato and others. The majority are of European works of arts and townscapes (many of the latter unidentified). There are also scenes at Woolwich. Plates 68-80 are uncaptioned and consist of miscellaneous engravings of weaponry, armour and archaeological sites.
