Photograph album of Major Hubert Richard Lovett, circa 1877-1891, 1877 - 1891
An album containing photographs relating to Lovett's military service in India and South Africa in the 1870s and 1880s. It also contains photographs of other places visited en route to India.

Photographs taken by Henry Dobinson during the Second World War and his time in East Africa, and others acquired from commercial photographers. Captions have been recorded as found and may include language which is offensive, inaccurate or inappropriate. They have been retained to reflect the context of the collection's creation. Captions supplied by the cataloguer are enclosed in square brackets.

Photographs. H.H. Davies [Davies Indian Album I], 1902 - 1910
An album, labelled on the spine, containing prints of various sizes. The numbering is sequenced from 1 to 131, but 101 is omitted. 14 of these prints are loose (118-131) , and are kept in a separate envelope in the album. Some of the prints are good quality professional work. Some of the photographs are captioned in ink; in other cases the titles have been derived from duplicate copies in Davies' other Indian album or from other photographs of the same scenes.

Boosé, dated April 17 1900, gives some additional information about the photographs and promises further prints 'if these are of any use'.

A collection of loose prints measuring approximately 205 x 155 mm. Several prints are captioned on the photograph, the remaining ones have pencilled captions on the reverse. Plates 3 and 5 have the photographer's name on the front of the print, but this has been defaced with black ink, rendering it illegible. Plates 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9 have the name G. Dantez pencilled on the reverse which may be the photographer's signature.
