Scope and Contents From the Fonds:

Group photograph and amateur snapshots, presumably mostly taken by E.A. Rothery, mounted on 23 card sheets from a disbound album. Unless otherwise noted, the photographs are of varied up to 110 x 70 mm, black and white or sepia.

The photograph relate to Rothery's career as a surveyor up to 1939, and have been captioned by him. A few additions, including the identification of individuals from Blue Books and Staff Lists, have been made.

Scope and Contents From the Series: A collection of numbered prints, unless otherwise stated measuring circa 210 x 160 mm, in a 19 page typescript volume entitled 'Barotseland', written and illustrated by Max Gluckman. His typescript is undated but the illustrations closely resemble, and in some cases are identical with, those used in Gluckman (1945) of which a photocopy is filed with this collection. It is not known how these photographs were used - perhaps projected by epidiascope. Numbers 1-54 are captioned on the back,...
