Scope and Contents From the Fonds: Eagle was a keen botanist, with a particular interest in mosses and lichens, which are the subject of most of the present correspondence. After Eagle's death his collection of mosses was bought by Sir Henry Bunbury (1778-1860), 7th Baronet, of Barton Hall near Bury (Add.8184/42). Some or all of Eagle's botanical correspondence seems to have passed to his fellow Bury botanist, Edmund Skepper (1825-67).
