Scope and Contents

Copy of a diary titled, 'From Mombasa to Mengo being an account of the Journey of 750 miles thro' Central Africa made by the missionary part under Bishop Tucker 1892'. Typed copy, with corrections and comments added by H.B. Thomas. Nickisson was a Church Missionary Society (CMS) missionary in East Africa. According to the Europeans in East Africa database, Nickisson set off for Mengo with Bishop Tucker in September 1892. He died at Nassa of blackwater fever in June 1896.
