The archives comprise a wide range of operational records, covering the management and development of premises and grounds, garden planting, gardening advice within and without the University, visitors and Friends, accounts, bequests (including that by Reginald Cory) and staff, as well as papers concerning interaction with the Botany School and botanical research in general.

The most significant items held are the letters written by Ethel Sargant to Agnes Arber (nee Robertson), fellow botanist: see GCPP Sargant 2/1 below. There are also a few personal and biographical items, a volume of botanical drawings, and some botanical equipment and artefacts, including botanical slides. There is also a small file of poems written by Ethel Sargant in later life.

Includes Prof. A. C. Seward (2nd from right on front seated row) and Hugh Hamshaw Thomas and Edith Gertrude Torrance ['Torrie'], his wife from 1923 (3rd and 4th from right on row behind). Also includes John Walton (Seward's son-in-law) seated 2nd from left on ground. Henry Horation Dixon (President of Section K, 1922) is seated centre on the front row, with Edith Saunders (in black) to his right.

A collection of 58 botanical studies of grasses made in 1941 while Audus was stationed in Malaya and Singapore serving with the RAF. The collection also includes printed copies of Audus's own summary documents relating to his time in captivity as a prisoner of war from 1942 to 1945 and his production of yeast in the camps to provide vitamin B1 which was deficient in their diet.
