Henry Taylor and family: Correspondence and Papers

Scope and Contents The collection consists of manuscript notebooks, correspondence, and business and family papers of Henry Taylor, with additional papers relating to the family of his wife Christian (née Fox). The correspondence includes letters sent between Taylor and members of his family (7901/1 and 7901/2). This is supported by correspondence with those outside the immediate family circle. Scope and Contents The complete autograph MS of 'Rewards and Fairies', including the poems 'The Road through the Woods' and 'If', 118 folios. On the flyleaf: 'Presented to Cambridge University Library by The Author 1926 Rudyard Kipling'. With letters from Kipling to A. F. Scholfield (University Librarian), Burwash, 30 June 1926, and Kipling's secretary D. Gardner-Smith to Scholfield, Burwash, 21 July 1926; and with an envelope mis-addressed by Kipling to Scholfield as 'Bodley's Librarian' at 'The Bodleian Oxford'.

Siegfried Sassoon: Letters to Glen Byam Shaw.

Scope and Contents This collection contains 373 letters, notes and postcards from Sassoon to Byam Shaw, 1924-1966; some with additional enclosures. Many have inferred dates written in pencil [by Hart-Davis]. It includes a number of items received by Sassoon and perhaps then forwarded on to Shaw, e.g. MS Add.9454/86-90; these are listed chronologically where not clearly associated with a particular letter. Undated letters are numbered from /369-373. All letters are from Sassoon to Shaw unless otherwise stated.
