Correspondence, diagrams and calculations on tides and waves for the 'Encyclopaedia Metropolitana'. The correspondents include H.J. Rose, J. Challis, W. Hopkins, D.F.J. Arago, F. Beaufort and J.F.W. Herschel. The papers include a world map (Mecator projection) showing magnetic variation and dip, and a notebook titled 'Tides for Encyclopaedia Metropolitana, Examination of Books'.
