A personal photograph album of a family trip to Algeria, starting in Algiers. it is an early indicator of Lord Tayour's abiding, life-long interest in photographing landscapes, gardens, local peoples, his own family memebrs and archaeological sites.

In 1956 Lord Taylour visits several cities, towns and villages in Italy. These photographs encompass a broad range, including images of buildings (cathedrals and baptistries, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and houses); ancient Roman and Etruscan architectural and artistic remains, as well as dolmens, images of Lord Taylour and his crew, streets, landscapes, fountains, beaches and animals ('goats in play' and a 'sacred raven'). There are also photographs of the excavatory process in Avetrana.

In 1956 Lord Taylour visits the excavations at Rocca Vecchia and Scalo di Fondo, Italy, photographing objects unearthed as well as workers and the excavatory process. The album additionally includes photographs of animals (including two 'goats in play'), landscapes, women doing exercices on a field and a local family in Lower Bavaria.
