Archives of the Cambridge Union Society, 1815 - 2015

Scope and Contents The archives comprise a full record of the Union’s activities from 1815 until the middle of the twentieth century. Thereafter the records are somewhat patchy. Major series of records include laws and regulations of the Society, annual reports, committee minute books, records of debates, suggestions books and photographs of speakers.

Conditions Governing Access: From the Management Group: The University Archives are generally freely available to the holder of a reader's ticket for the Department of Archives and Modern Manuscripts, Cambridge University Library, West Road, Cambridge CB3 9DR. Restrictions on access are imposed on certain categories of sensitive record: financial, governmental and personal, by order of the originating body or under data protection legislation.
