Newscuttings on Southern and East Africa

Four volumes of newscuttings, three relating to Southern and East Africa and one to the Native Question in South Africa, and loose cuttings on related subjects. Many of the articles concern the activities of the colonial powers in Africa, notably Great Britain, Germany, Spain and France.

Senex Africanus

Scope and Contents

A carbon copy of a typescript of Sinclair's reminiscences of his time in England, Kenya, Zanzibar and Tangier, 177 pages. Although there is a list of photographs, the illustrated copy of the memoir is believed to be lost.

W. Powell collection on Africa 1930s

Scope and Contents A collection of photographs on 125 brown loose album sheets, many with hand-written captions. The captions have been recorded as found and may include language which is offensive, inaccurate or inappropriate. They have been retained to reflect the context of the collection's creation.
