Adamson: the papers of George Worsley Adamson

Scope and Contents

The papers consist of original artwork for editions of 'Meet My Folks', 'How the Whale Became' and 'The Iron Man'. There is also a small quantity of correspondence received by Adamson from Ted Hughes regarding illustrations for Hughes's books.

The collection consists of Royal Warrants for Browne's Appointment to the Quarter Sessions Courts in Essex, the Isle of Ely and Cambridgeshire. There is also a further Royal Warrant appointing Browne as a Justice of the Royal Court of Justice and Letters Patent appointing him one of the Lords Justices of Appeal.

Scope and Contents The collection consists of correspondence, poetry and prose received by Barrie Cooke and original artwork produced by him. The principal correspondents are Seamus Heaney, Ted Hughes, Jean Valentine and John Montage, and their letters along with their poetry and prose are to be found in the archive. There is also a large series of correspondence from poets and artists resident in Ireland, the United Kingdom and America, often consisting of just 1 or 2 letters from each correspondent but...

Gray: the papers of Thomas Gray

The collection consists of Thomas Gray's commonplace books and diaries (1755 and 1760) as well as letters from Gray to George Ashby, George Birkett, James Brown and Horace Walpole. There is also other Gray manuscript material including school work and miscellaneous notes. The College has also collected images of Gray and research into him (GBR/1058/GRA/6 and 8).

The papers consist of material collected by Olwyn Hughes, mainly during the period she acted as literary agent for her brother Ted Hughes. Papers include copies of early appearances of many of Ted Hughes's and Sylvia Plath's poems and essays in literary magazines and newspapers and many newspaper cuttings relating to the work and lives of Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath and their children. The collection contains no original manuscript material by Ted Hughes or Sylvia Plath.
