Fourteen captioned 152 x 103 mm. colour photographs taken by Michael Lee illustrating celebrations held in Kampala to mark Uganda's independence. They include views of the procession, independence shields, Makerere College, Kampala City Hall, and the ceremony at Kololo stadium attended by the Duke and Duchess of Kent.

Visit of the Duke and Duchess of York to Uganda 1925

Scope and Contents Collection of loose mostly uncaptioned prints, chiefly relating to the visit of Duke and Duchess of York (later H.M. King George VI and H.M. Queen Elizabeth) to Uganda in February-March 1925. An attempt has been made to identify the photographs from the published programme of the visit, and cuttings relating to it, which were presented with the photographs, and also other printed works such as 'King George VI: his life and reign' by John Wheeler-Bennett (1958).
