Diary of a journey through Germany, 8-29 September [1835], apparently in Baly's hand, 122 folios. On fo. 2 is an explanatory note in the hand of the donor. Running from the end of the volume are notes on the geological formations in the districts visited and financial accounts for travel expenses.

The collection is comprised of nine volumes of journal entries and notes written during the voyage of the 'Marchesa' and one volume of notes for Guillemard's biography of Ferdinand Magellan. Some of the volumes include lists of letters sent home by Guillemard during his voyage to eastern Asia, China and Japan, which provide a rough itinerary of his journey.

The text is heavily corrected and appears to be a draft. On fo. 1r: 'Ireland. No. 1'. Accompanying the manuscript is a lithograph circular letter from J.B. Wells, 10 January 1829.

Travel journal, 1802. 'Journal of a Tour in France begun July 23rd 1802'. From internal evidence the writer was an English army officer. Fos 48-50 and 85-94 are blank. 94 fos 8 x 5.75 in.
