References to 'Age and Youth' are to Sir Ernest's memoirs published in 1953. The book includes his earlier, 1948, memoir, 'Father of the man', references to which are given as in the composite volume.

In addition to original scripts the papers include documents relating to plays directed by Burrell and plays in which he performed. In some cases, as for example in the Samuel Pepys and some of the Thomas Gray material and 'Cavaliers and Roundheads' Burrell's contribution consists largely of linking passages and the distinction between original scripts and adaptations is blurred.

Seven leaves (290 × 180mm) bound in a late 17th-century Cambridge style between many blanks by George Bayntun of Northumberland Place, Bath, in, or shortly after, 1894. It is possible that this was a copy for Walter Curle (or Curll), D.D., Fellow of Peterhouse 1598 to 1616, Bishop of Bath and Wells to November 1632 (when he was translated to Winchester) and a notable benefactor to the building of the chapel.
