A xerox copy of a typescript Ph.D. thesis for the University of London, 345 pages, 1955, based largely on the Mackinnon Papers in the School of Oriental and African Studies. It is not known when the copy was made.

Hogbin collection
A collection of 18 glass slides and 38 photographs. The slides were used by Hogbin to illustrate talks on her work when on furlough (leave of absence), and their captions were provided by her niece. The captions have been used as titles and have been recorded as found.
Holbrook Tea Estate, Ceylon [i.e. Sri Lanka]
A collection of loose prints mounted on card and measuring approximately 195 x 145 mm.
The Holbrook estate was established in the early 1870s and was situated three miles from Lindula in the Dimbula area.

H.R.H. The Duke of Clarence and Avondale in Southern India
A book by John David Rees, with 'A Narrative of Elephant-Catching in Mysore' by G.P. Sanderson. An account of the Indian Tour of 1889 by Prince Albert Victor (1864-1892) Duke of Clarence and Avondale, elder son of Edward Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII. The book is illustrated with collotype portraits produced by the Autotype Company and photogravures by Dawsons Ph. Sc., eight of them arranged two to a page. The book is stored at RCS.A.22.

Huiarua Station, East Coast, New Zealand, 23,500 acres
An album containing 95 snapshot photographs with handwritten captions beneath, most measuring approximately 105 x 60 mm, and depicting life on a New Zealand sheep station. The album also contains 2 loose uncaptioned prints. Although an amateur family album, the pictures give an interesting and varied record of the sheep farmer's life and work. Huiarua is situated in the east coast district of the North Island between Opotiki and Gisborne.

Illustrations of China and its People
A volume measuring 36 x 48 cm containing plates with illustrations of various Chinese provinces, Hong Kong and Macao.
John Thomson (1837-1921) was a distinguished photographer and traveller, and this is volume I of his magnum opus, published in four volumes in 1873-74. It contains excellent Woodbury-type reproductions of his photographs taken in the early 1870s, and substantial notes on each illustration.

Mounted print, 297 x 229 mm, showing a posed group of 38 staff and students, including both men and women. 'Imperial Forestry Institute Oxford 1926' is printed on the mount and the majority of those in the Group, including the Director of the Institute from 1924 to 1935, Robert Scott Troup (1874-1939), are identified in pencil on the reverse.

Inauguration of the University of Ghana 25th November 1961
An album of photographs, mostly measuring about 140 x 105 mm., bound in leather with the title on the front cover. The University was created by an Act of 22 August 1961 from the former University College of the Gold Coast, founded 1948, which had become the University of Ghana in 1957. Typed captions are stuck under each photograph, which have been used as titles and recorded as found.

An album of albumen prints probably taken in the 1880s by varied photographers including Bourne and Shepherd, W L H Skeen and Co. and G.R. Lambert & Co. Numbers 1-39 are of India; 40-51 of Ceylon; and 52-59 of Singapore. Numbers at the end of individual photograph entries refer to the photographers' catalogue numbers.
