A collection of prints, mainly measuring approximately 255 x 205mm, with captions pasted to the reverse of the prints. The photographs are aimed at the tourist market and show places and sights in Nassau and San Salvador. Views of scenery in the West Indies

Scope and Contents This is a collection of 12 halftone prints and two sheets of paper, which both have handwritten inscriptions in ink. The photographer was W.M.H. Ward & Co. Although there are 14 captions listed on one of the accompanying sheets of paper, only 12 prints are present. Images corresponding to captions 1, 3, and 7 are absent. There are 11 unique images, with two prints for the image which corresponds to caption 6. The collection’s creator is unknown, but this set of prints...

Loose papers and one newspaper from Patrick and his son James Colquhoun's correspondence files. RCMS 263/1-9 have a cover headed 'Nevis 1820' and RCMS 263/11-31 are in a similar cover '1832 West Indies'. Each has a note of contents, but these do not tally exactly with the items now present.
