Autobiography drafts of Thomas Westgate
Typescript drafts of chapters from 'A son of the Canadian Church' covering Westgate's time in German East Africa, 1902, 1908, 1909, 1910, 1911, 1909-1912 and 1913-1914 (3 sets). There are manuscript annotations and a few pages of notes.
Band of the 2nd Nigerian Regiment
Sepia photograph, measuring 105 x 80 mm, mounted on card measuring 150 x 230 mm, with the crest of the regiment and 'Xmas Greetings and Best Wishes'. A calendar for 1930 is mounted on it.
Banso report, 1933-1934
A report on Banso, a district of the Cameroons, including a map. There is no indication as to the terms of reference of the report or for whom it was made, although the index is headed 'Banso re-assessment report'. At the end of the report is a range of appended material.

Bieneman collection
An album of 73 photographs, mostly three to a page, measuring 145 x 88 mm. save for numbers 16-21, 31, 34-42 and 58-66, which measure 88 x 145 mm. Subjects are, for the most part, indigenous people and their animals. An obituary from The Times, included with the album, contains a tribute to Bieneman's work from a former pupil, Aliyu Makaman Bida.

'Browne's expedition to the Zambezi, 1823'
'A narrative of the proceedings of a small party, sent by Captain Owen, of H.M.S. Leven, in July 1823, under the command of Lieut. C.W. Browne, R.N., to explore the course of the River Zambezi on the Eastern Coast of Africa', written by Antonio X. Jozi, an Angolan and one of the survivors of the party. This is an illustrated copy of Bosazza's annotated transcription of Jozi's work (25 pages).
Buchanan-Smith album of active service in World War I
Album of various sized prints, concerned with Sir Walter Buchanan-Smiths service with the Nigeria Regiment in the Cameroons (plates 1-8) and in German East Africa (plates 159-201). The captions are difficult to read as they are written on dark brown paper in black ink.
Buchanan-Smith glass plates of Nigeria and the Cameroons
A collection of uncaptioned glass plates relating to Buchanan-Smith's service in Nigeria, showing his official residence, duties and travel, and Nigeria’s people and landscape. Y3043ZZ/29 appears to be a Yoruba Oba (chief) from southern Nigeria. It may be possible to identify the images with reference to Buchanan-Smith's Nigerian photographs at Y3043U-Y.
Buchanan-Smith views in the Seychelles
Album containing silver prints of various sizes. The photographs depict Buchanan-Smith's outward voyage to the Seychelles in 1939 and also views in the Seychelles, mainly of scenery but including Government House. Other photographs relate to official and social activities.

Little is known of the provenance of this collection of uncaptioned glass negatives. It features pupils gathered round a sign which reads 'Cape Coast Wesley Technical Institution.' It is likely, therefore, that the rest of the images relate to the school's students and activities.
