The figures for officers, non-commissioned officers, effectives, and contingent men are tabulated for each regiment. Revd. J.W. Whittaker: Letters to him

The following letters were mostly written by two of Whittaker's Cambridge friends: Thomas Greenwood, a fellow-Johnian, who was called to the bar (1817) and became reader in history at the University of Durham (1833); and William Whewell, afterwards Master of Trinity.
