Biographical / Historical
Jan Svoboda was the personal secretary of Blazej Vilim, a leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party in exile. He was born in Czechoslovakia [later the Czech Republic and Slovakia] in 1902 and died in London in 1979.

Svoboda's papers were given to Churchill College, Cambridge, in October 1979 by Mrs. Simsova, friend of Mirka Vilim.
