The papers consist mainly of writing on politics and articles from the magazine Perspektivy Socialismu, founded by Blazej Vilim, and also relate to the activities of exiled members of the Czech Social Democratic Party.

Biographical / Historical

Jan Svoboda was the personal secretary of Blazej Vilim, a leader of the Czech Social Democratic Party in exile. He was born in Czechoslovakia [later the Czech Republic and Slovakia] in 1902 and died in London in 1979.
