Biographical / Historical

Sime was born in November 1911 in Stockwell, London. He joined the Royal Navy as a Boy Seaman in March 1928. He served on a number of ships, including "HMS Nelson", 1932-4; "HMS Dundee", 1935-8; "HMS Enterprise", 1938; "HMS Sandwich", 1938-9; "HMS Berwick", 1940; "HMS Danae", 1941; and "HMS Royalist", 1943. He was discharged from the Navy in March 1946.
