Immediate Source of Acquisition
Margherita Ruck-Keene loaned this item to Churchill Archives Centre in 1979. Her great-great-uncle George F. McDougall was on the expedition which set out to look for Franklin. He had left this item in the family and it was passed to Mrs Ruck-Keene by her mother.

This collection (fonds) level description to the papers was prepared by Louise King of Churchill Archives Centre in March 2004 using information from the correspondence between Mrs Ruck-Keene and the then Keeper of Churchill Archives Centre, Captain Stephen Roskill.
