The Papers of Rear-Admiral Sir Anthony Wass Buzzard
Scope and Contents
Buzzard's primary career was as a naval officer and a significant portion of this collection reflects this work. There are Second World War naval papers concerning HMS Glory, HMS Superb, HMS Formidable, HMS Theseus and HMS Implacable. Also included are conference papers on issues such as arms, deterrence and disarmament. But it was Buzzard's involvement with organisations such as the Institute for Strategic Studies, the Conference of Christian Approaches to Defence and Disarmament and the British Council of Churches that produced the majority of documents in this collection.
