Subjects include: Churchill's distress at a speech by 1st Lord Reading [earlier Rufus Isaacs] on India, January 1931 and his determination to fight his corner on India to the end; his warning to AS about his links with 'the Samuelite group' [of Sir Herbert Samuel], advising him to establish links with the Tories or 'Simonites' [group of Sir John Simon] instead; his accident in New York [United States, when he was hit by a cab], December 1931 and planned lectures to the New York Economic Club; asking for AS's comments on his book ["The World Crisis"], relating to Britain's involvement in the Russian Civil War; comment by Churchill on a speech by AS [? on the Naval Estimates, 1935]: 'Manner: Admirable; Argument: False; Purpose: Morbid; Consequence: Fatal".
