Correspondents include: General Charles de Gaulle on his order to close the unit, his thanks to the staff and good first impression of the unit (3); General Georges Catroux, Commander-in-Chief of the Free French in the Levant, on subjects including his attitude to the unit, and his view that a French one would be better, and her refusal to accept his authority (2); Marguerite Catroux (4).
Also includes: lists of the unit's staff and equipment; a memorandum on the unit's history, details of operations and accounts; notes on the unit's service; correspondence and reports on the status, pay and repatriation of staff; reports on difficulties in dealing with the Free French medical staff.
